## Quickstart by client

Choose your AI client and follow the matching install flow.

### Install Commands

#### TUI

`npx legalcode init`

1. Run the command in your terminal.
2. Pick your target client in the interactive selector.
3. Apply the generated MCP configuration and complete auth in browser when prompted.

#### ChatGPT

`npx legalcode init`

1. Run the command in your terminal.
2. Select ChatGPT when prompted.
3. Paste the generated MCP endpoint into your ChatGPT connector config.

#### Claude

`npx legalcode init --client claude`

1. Run the command and select Claude.
2. Sign in to legalcode.md when the browser opens.
3. Confirm the remote server URL and scopes in Claude.

#### Claude Code

`npx legalcode init --client claude-code`

1. Run the command and select Claude Code.
2. Open `/mcp` in Claude Code and add the generated remote URL.
3. Finish OAuth in your browser and verify tool access.

#### Codex

`npx legalcode init --client codex`

1. Run the command and pick Codex.
2. Apply the generated MCP configuration in your Codex environment.
3. Run a sample law lookup to confirm connectivity.
