# Legal AI Skills

Legal AI skills are plain-text instruction files that teach AI agents how a senior lawyer approaches specific legal tasks.

Unlike templates or visual workflow builders, skills encode structured professional judgment — what to look for, what questions to ask, what risk levels mean, and what redlines to suggest. A skill for NDA review, for example, specifies how to triage missing mutual confidentiality, evaluate the scope of the definition of Confidential Information, and flag unusual carve-outs relative to market standard.

Skills are the connective tissue between raw legal data and useful AI output. An AI agent with access to statutes and case law can answer legal questions; an agent that also has skills can reason like a practitioner — distinguishing material issues from boilerplate, producing structured memos, and suggesting concrete next steps rather than hedged summaries.
