Use the Legalcode MCP connector for Free legal research inside AI tools. Active Pro organizations can also create REST API keys for direct server-to-server integrations. REST data routes are Pro only; API root, health, Scalar, OpenAPI, and protected-resource metadata remain public.

Access model

  • Create and revoke organization API keys from Dashboard → API access; the full secret is shown once
  • Send Authorization: Bearer lc_live_… on every REST data request
  • API keys are server-side credentials — never embed them in browser or mobile applications
  • Organization owners and admins can maintain up to five enabled keys
  • MCP sessions, organization members, and API keys share the active Pro organization's weighted allowance
  • Free accounts continue to use every supported non-patent source through MCP
